Sewer Robotics Gripper Removes Large Rock From Tight Sewer Pipe
May 21 2020
Rock Removal from Sewer Mainline! A 10-12lbs solid granite rock, located in an 8-inch clay pipe underneath an active railroad track was suspected to block the sewage flow. Prior to our arrival, the customer had attempted to crack and break the rock by using various nozzle configurations – but all to no avail. Even worse, these nozzles broke and shattered the pipe, which also partially collapsed. To reach the rock, we first had to remove the broken pipe segments.
Our gripper system (adjustable for gripping-pressure, -diameter and prong positioning) easily grabbed the big rock and transported it back to the manhole. Job accomplished!
